The room was dark and cold. She lay in her bed and it was obvious that her breath was always less. As if someone would cut her off the air. It was terrible to see her there in the bed.
But because it was my grandmother, I had to be there for her! It could be the last moment in this world for her.
"Sammy my angel. Could you do me a favor?" She asked with a weary, quiet voice. "All you want, grandmother." I answered. With weary eyes, she looked around the room, pointing with her trembling fingers
on the pile of boxes that were in the corner of the room. I stood up and pulled the small box on which she had shown.

The outlaw certainly had not always been this way. He would have been the do-gooder he had always planned on being if not for what had happened.

Rumors were flying through the countryside, and residents were spinning wild tales of how the once proud sheriff had betrayed those he loved, casting them aside for a life that he favored more—a life of villainy and crime.

Woody Pride would never—and, more importantly, had never—hurt those close to him.
